Dogs

Dogs is a series of watercolours based on the dog scene of The Thing (1982) - a film about a shape-shifting alien in Antarctica. In this scene, the alien, who has invaded a dog, reshapes itself into a tubular organism with the head of a dog. Each watercolour is paired with texts from The Lesbian Body (1973) by Monique Wittig. Through this juxtaposition and the use of watercolours, this grotesque image is transformed into a fragile, almost tender representation.
